Management
Prior to founding healthspottr, Carleen was an associate editor with Forbes and, later, a senior writer and west coast bureau chief for Fast Company magazine. While with Forbes, she created the well-known Midas List, an index of leading venture capital dealmakers, now in its ninth year of publication. Carleen holds a BA in political science from Barnard College and a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School, and was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia Business School. She currently contributes to Health Affairs. Her work can also be found in the archives of Financial Week, Ode, Business 2.0, Inc., San Francisco, and Outside.

Jake is a senior at Northwestern University where he will earn his bachelor's degree, in Communication Studies in June, 2010. Previously, Jake has worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as a summer intern in the firm's corporate life and sciences department. An avid sports fan and participant, he also enjoys playing guitar and piano. Jake plans to attend law school, and looks forward to a career in media law.

Larry Leisure is the Managing Partner of the Silicon Valley based AccelusHealth Partners and serves as a Senior Advisor to Ingenix Consulting and Venture Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
He has had a distinguished career in healthcare serving in a number of senior consulting and management roles. His consulting leadership positions have included Accenture where he was the Global Managing Partner for the Health Vertical, and Towers Perrin where he led the Managed Care practice. In these roles he has served as client partner to many of the largest US health plans and PBMs including Aetna, Caremark, CIGNA, Medco, UnitedHealth, and WellPoint as well as many of the largest US employers including American Airlines, AT&T, Exxon, Proctor & Gamble, Shell Oil, Wal-Mart, and Wells Fargo Bank.
From 2003 to 2007 he joined one his clients, Kaiser Permanente, where he was Senior Vice President and oversaw the sales & account management functions.
He is well known industry leader and innovator. He sits on the boards of several Silicon Valley health information and bioscience companies including Crescendo Bioscience, Medpedia, Navigenics, and Tethys Bioscience.
He received his AB in Economics from Stanford University and his MBA in Finance from the University of California, Los Angeles.
He resides in Atherton, California with his wife Bren.
Chris is presently Managing Director of Nautilus Ventures, and is an advisor or investor to numerous startups, including RepairPal, Powerset, Lab Pixies and Ventana. Previously, Chris founded two companies: Military.com, the nation’s largest community for military personnel; and Affinity Labs, a portfolio of web communities serving professional groups. Monster Worldwide acquired both companies. A former Naval Flight Officer in the United States Navy, Chris earned his commission from the NROTC program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Chris is also a fellow of the Aspen Institute and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Wendy is the Founder and President of Lane PR, an award-winning public relations firm that has served companies in the financial services, consumer retail, technology, healthcare, sustainability and food & beverage industries for 20 years. Previous to LANE PR, Wendy’s 30-year tenure in marketing and communications included roles as vice president at a mid-size public relations and advertising firm, divisional buyer for a major retail company and assistant advertising manager for a national clothing company. An Oregon native, Wendy earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, with honors, from the University of Oregon. Wendy drives Lane PR’s commitment to nonprofit causes in her hometown of Portland, where she is a prominent civic and business leader.
Beatrice is the Co-founder and CEO of Mobissimo.com, her third startup, and the leading meta-search engine for global travel. Previously, Beatrice was co-founder and CEO of Axall Media, a Paris-based entertainment software developer and publisher specializing in games and educational and travel reference products. Beatrice also co-founded France Portage, a press distribution database provider, later acquired by France Telecom. She holds a BA in international affairs from the American University of Paris and an MBA from Boston University.
