INNOVATION SALON

Outtakes from Our 1st Innovation Salon: "Reinventing Primary Care"

As part of our debut, healthspottr recently hosted its first Innovation Salon. These will be monthly evening events, where we gather together a group of healthcare entrepreneurs, investors, industry executives and care providers, to discuss a current topic or challenge facing the industry over an intimate meal.

Our first dinner troupe addressed the challenges facing primary care, and in particular, the shortage of primary care physicians. The discussion benefitted from a broad-ranging guest list that included several of our inaugural future health 100. The debate was headlined by athenahealth founder, Todd Park, who you by now know was named this week to the newly-created job of CTO for Health and Human Services (a piece of news that will surprise no one who attended our event.). Other of the evening's participants included: Dr. Jay ParkinsonDr. Jordan ShlainDr. L. Gordon Moore, Dr. Rahul Parikh, James Currier,  Laurel Pantel and Paul Martino.

They all had plenty to share, and a handful of great ideas were seeded. Below we've included a few video outtakes from some of our new "healthspottrs." They have some especially interesting things to say. Comments are most welcome. And stay tuned. More perspectives from future evenings are yet to come.

Thanks, and keep innovating...
